Drumming at HSM Praise and Worship

So Last Tuesday night I drummed for a new band. Its called 3wgaaa. Stands for 3 White Guys and an Asian. Its not really a "real band". Its actually just some of the staff on HSM and my team playing for the Wildside and HSM when needed. However, it was a sweet night of worship!!! Zack and Alice pretty much lead!!! I have incorporated Alice's name in 3wgaaa yet. The only name i could think of so far was 4WPaaa, which then would stand for, 4 white people and and asian. However, i might go with 4GORACA, which stands for, 4 Grains of Rice and Chicken Adobo.

Our set that night was:
Everything Glorious - David Crowder - off his new album, i would recommend
Hayden, an incredible Senior, gave a great welcome shared a little
It is well/Thank you for Loving me - Something Like Silas Version
Yes you have - Leeland
Jeff B, HSM Intern, Shared the Word
Piano songs that Alice Lead
Come thou Font - ?
Give Us Clean Hands - Charlie Hall
Jason P lead into communion
You Alone - ?
Hosanna - United (Yet again another song i never get tired of singing daily)
Jesus Paid it all
The funny thing is Zack has been playing Yes you Have a ton in HSM, but we were suppose to end on Jesus Paid it all, but felt the HS leading to sing this song again and it was EPIC!!!

However, here was the part of the night, besides our Students Worshiping, while i was playing one of the sticks flung out of my hand, because i was hitting so hard, that it almost poked me in the eye. It was awesome!!!

Okay 3:22am back to Sleep Now Philipino

No PICS!!! This Past weekend in HSM and WILDSIDE

So i haven't blogged any pics lately because i lost my USB Chord that connects my wife's camera to the computer. I have some sweet pics coming soon so your going to have to wait. I ordered another Chord and so i am expecting it this week. AHhhh POOP.

It was a confusing weekend because we are doing 40 days of purpose and the whole church is pretty doing the same purpose this weekend, but HSM did REACH (evangelism) and Wildside did HONOR (worship). If it was up to me i would have done DISCOVER (Ministry) why? for no reason!!! Anyways just in case you wanted to know:

HSM
Uncle Do Lead with Rachel
Opener - Realize - Colbi Caillat
Tell the World - United
To the Ends of the Earth - United
Mighty to Save - United
Salvation is Here - United

WILDSIDE
Landon, Heather, and Jessie R - These are some of high school students who lead this past weekend in Wildside and they were awesome!!! I think it was great because this pretty much is our Freshman band, and they have been playing together now for about 2 years and they are "Band" not just players, and so it was pretty tight.

Salvation is Here - United
Stir in Me - Todd Proctor
Here I am to Worship - Tim Hughes
From the Inside - United - This song is like rice to me, i love sing it everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - its so powerful!!!

Free Thinks to Do

Found this on one of my student Droopy BLOGs - "The Genie" - i couldn't link it because his blog is blocked, so i copied and pasted it for my friends out in FLORIDA and VIRGINIA, enjoy and try these!!! The picture of Lea is just for fun!!!

THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Blink wildly and then close your eyes really tight for an interesting light show
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
See a variety of blobs, stars and flashes. Try to make out shapes and see if your subconscious is trying to send you a message (perhaps that funny shape is saying, 'send all your money to urban75.com'?)

See how long you can hold a note
(Amusement Potential: 4-20 minutes)
Not that much fun, but it sure passes the time. Play with a friend, or try to beat your own personal best. Inhale deeply and then try and make a noise for as long as you can. Earn extra points for making your partner laugh or ending on an amusing note.

Try to not think about penguins
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about penguins anyway.

Use your secret mind power
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Pick a passing by and try to use your mind power to command them do something, like drop their bag or knock into someone. The law of averages dictates that sooner or later one of your mind commands will come true, so you can convince yourself that you really have super human powers and waste even more time trying them out.

Pretend you're a robot
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Walk down the street with mechanical movements, adding 'zzzzzt' sounds with each motion. Pretending to have a motor broken in, say, your left hand can add at least 30 seconds more entertainment.

Scratch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Go ahead, scratch yourself now. Even if nothing itches, go ahead. Doesn't that feel pretty good?

Rate passers by
(Amusement Potential: 10-15 minutes)
Secretly award passers by marks out of ten as you go along, offering (unsaid) expert criticism over their clothing, hairstyle and footwear choices.

Repeat the same word over and over until it loses its meaning
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Pick a random word out of a magazine and say it aloud to yourself until it becomes a meaningless set of noises.

Pinch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
What is pain? Why is it unpleasant? There's nothing physical about it - it's all in your mind. Plus, after pinching yourself for awhile, boredom will seem nice next to being in pain.

Try to swallow your tongue
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
There's not much to say about this one. It is possible, but really stupid.

Pretend to be a car
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Make appropriate revving noises in your head as you walk along and add a racing commentary as you pass strangers in the street. Use blinking eyes as indicators for extra authenticity.

Make Star Trek door noises
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
Stand by an electric door to a bank or something and make that silly "Scccccccchwop" sound heard whenever people popped on to the bridge to hang with Captain Kirk.

Look at something for awhile, shut eyes, study after image
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
Another great time waster. It takes about 30 seconds of staring to create an after image, and the image is then viewable for about the same length of time. Fun to combine this one with pushing on your eyes.

Get yourself as nauseated as possible
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Best achieved by looking straight up and spinning around. Try to be so dizzy you can't even stand up. This is also entertaining due to the "makes boredom seem a lot better" effect (see "Hurt Yourself").

Invent a weird twitch
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Adopt a bizarre twitch (e.g. flicking your head irregularly, twitching with eye or busting out sporadic cough noises) and try it out when you go shopping.

Make a low buzzing noise
(Amusement Potential: 15-30 minutes)
Hours of fun in libraries! Keeping a totally straight face and looking nonchalant, make a low pitch humming/buzzing noise and see who reacts.

Lunch With Chris Sligh and Sam

Well today was a sweet Lunch. I am usually not into the celebrity type person deal because i am Philipino, just kidding, but had lunch with a huge group from student ministries and we were honored with the presence of Chris Sligh. Yup!!! Josh Griffin asked if we wanted to go and have lunch with him and Chris. And i said ahhh naaa you guys go and hang, but then found out that he was Worship Leader in SC and a whole bunch of peoples were going. And i am always up for hanging with other Worship leaders. Awesome!!! The bummer thing is i didn't get into the group picture with everyone because i had to leave early for a appointment. (Photo). Go to find out that he actually moved to Tenn to "melt people's faces with Rock", which was an awesome comment. Totally awesome dude, i pray and hope that God uses him in cool way in the secular musical industry.

I think there was a moment when everyone at the table was embarrassed because most of you know that i am not a loud person, okay i am lieing, but i yelled something loud enough for the whole Islands Restaurant to be silent for about 3 seconds. It was awesome, but my table was embarrassed.

Also at lunch today Marky and Sam, 2 original Droopy's who came and ate lunch and it was great eating lunch with them. Love those boys!!!

I am a Loud Philipino and i can admit that

This Past Weekend in HSM and WILDSIDE

HSM

Awesome Awesome Awesome this past weekend!!! This Weekend both HSM and Wildside had student choirs which has been pretty new this past year for both ministries. The best part about this weekend was that our HSM students would run over to the Junior High tent and sing with them, and our Junior High would come over and sing with High School tent and sing with us, I was leading HSM this weekend. It worked out this way because Wildside had the majority of their songs in the front of their program, and High School had the majority of their songs in the tail end of program. It had so much energy, and it had so much heart for the Lord in worshiping him through music, AHHH love our students!!!

Let me tell you a "funny" about this weekend. During our 2nd service at 6:30pm on Saturday night, myself, the band, and our High School choir were singing with the Wildside band and choir. Now remember i am leading HSM this weekend, during the 6:30 service, either Wildside went longer in their program of music or our program in High School went faster. Anyways, my drummer, Guzzy, who is in HSM, who wasn't singing with us in the Wildside Tent, because he was sitting through the high school service, like every band student should, not just come and play music. Anyways, we were on the tail end of singing "Came to Rescue" (Hillsong United) and this was Nikki's last song and she decides to vamp on Hosanna at the end because the students in Wildside were worshiping, crap love our students. Anyway, i see Guzzy in the back waving at me, because i am on stage in the choir singing, and see that we need to be on stage in HSM, well i walk off the stage and slowly and quietly and so did the HSM students and hurried up into the other tent. Right as our High School pastor said amen, i happen to walk on stage from the back at that very moment, went and grabbed my guitar and proceeded in leading in worship. The funny thing is i was singing so hard in Wildside that i had a loss my breath for moment, but the ironic thing is, i was about to sing in HSM "Breathing the Breath" from Matt Redman. A FUNNY!!! Anyway, that is what happened. Here are the songs that we did this past weekend starting off our 6 weeks series 40 Days of purpose:

HSM

1234 (Fiest) - Great Secular song also great with a Choir, Banjo, acoustic guitar, bass, drum, and Saxophone, yes this past weekend we opened with a Banjo and a Saxophone.
Everything Glorious - (David Crowders) newest CD - Its awesome!!!
Breathing the Breath (Matt Redman)

Hosanna (Hillsong United)

Take it All (Hillsong United)

Wildside
Yes You have (Leeland)

Tell the World (Hillsong United)

Hosanna (Hillsong United)

Came to my Rescue (Hillsong United)
